  • For Roadside Assistance service outside of the Metro Ottawa area and all other areas in North and East Ontario, call this toll free number: 1-800-CAA-HELP (222-4357).

Be prepared before you call Roadside Assistance

Please have the following information available:

  1. Your CAA Membership number and government-issued photo ID
  2. Your name
  3. The apparent problem with vehicle (e.g. vehicle won't start, stuck, flat tire, lockout, etc.)
  4. Vehicle make, model, year and colour
  5. Exact location of the vehicle (address and nearest cross street) or the point of safety you're calling from (telephone number if possible)

Return to the vehicle or to the agreed upon meeting place to wait for the service person's arrival. Present your valid Membership card, the driver may ask to see photo identification as well. The service person is not permitted to charge the Club unless the Member has a valid personal Membership card in his/her possession. The Member receiving the service must be with the vehicle when the technician arrives.

Roadside Services

Battery Service

If you are experiencing problems with your battery, we will test, boost or replace it. Battery replacements are subject to specific location and weather-dependent conditions.

Towing

Towing will be provided if attempts to make a vehicle safely operable at the roadside/location have been unsuccessful. Towing will be provided in accordance with Membership level.

Flat Tire

A flat tire will be replaced with the Member’s inflated and mounted spare tire. If no spare tire is available, the vehicle will be towed in accordance with Membership level.

Lockout Service

If keys are locked inside a vehicle, a CAA driver will be dispatched to gain entry. If keys are lost, broken, the driver cannot gain entry, or vehicle is inoperable, CAA will provide coverage for locksmith services or towing in accordance with Membership level.

Fuel Delivery

A limited supply of gasoline (up to 10 litres), will be delivered to the Member’s disabled vehicle. Classic Members will be charged the fuel pump price.

Extrication Service

Your vehicle will be extricated when (in CAA NEO or the service provider’s sole determination) it can be safely reached from a normally travelled or established thoroughfare or road.
